The FUJIFILM Camera Remote is an application provided by FUJIFILM that can operate wireless-equipped digital cameras by remote control to shoot images and to view images and movies in the camera and to transfer them to smartphones or tablets. And it also supports the cameras that offers Bluetooth® capability. Pair it with your smartphones or tablet devices, it synchronizes "date and time" and/or "location information" of your smartphone or tablet devices with the cameras that offers Bluetooth® capability. In advanced of shooting, to easily transfer pictures you have taken to the smartphones or tablet device via this application. Bluetooth wireless remote shutter release can be used for cameras that offers Bluetooth® capability. In addition, firmware update is now supported from your smartphone or tablet devices via Bluetooth without the need of a SD memory card.

A software bug is fixed that the application to crash when transferring images from the camera with some models (X-E3/X-H1/X-T3).
Note: As for X-T3, this crash occurs with Ver. 4.4.0 or lower only.

A missed opportunity

When you use this app you get the feeling that actually no one at Fuji has either used a modern photo app or they wanted to save on the cost.

Examples for the import functionality
- you can’t select multiple pictures like in iOS photo app. If you want more than one picture you need to tap all pictures. Very annoying.
- if you (accidentally) tap a picture in grid view it will give you the full picture. Now going back to the grid view takes at least 5 seconds. This makes it impossible to quickly go through the images
- why is there no cache for the grid view. Every time when you go in and out it will render the previews again.
- what happened to the send from camera mode where you could select the pictures for transfer on the camera? That was very useful and faster.

I gave two points because of the solid remote control feature. The import functionality is no go for a camera company

Looks like an Alpha version

This app doesn’t have a good UI and I don’t like these below things.
1. It only reads the Seamless transfer options data from Camera only once after installing. It will suggest us to enable ‘Auto Transfer’ even though we have enabled it in camera. Only solution is to uninstall and reinstall the app after changing the setting in Camera.
2. The wifi transfer is worst. It takes minutes to transfer a single image. Lol. Not sure what kind of tech they are using.
3. The images transferred to phone via App will not have proper naming like Image-xxxx. It will have some random junk names.

Live View shooting through app doesn’t work

Live you shooting doesn’t work properly. After clicking one or two photograph no photo is been shown on app, only blank and feed is stuck doesn’t show proper image. After clicking the shutter on app the camera becomes busy and don’t stop recording at all. At this time the app becomes unresponsive unless the app is forced closed and also the camera remains busy showing orange light. The distance between camera and mobile is placed side by side without any barrier between them.
