    Have only tried the updated app for few functions - Add a Payee / Transfer via NEFT. Doesn’t seem to be a big change over the old app but am sure HDFC Bank will continue to make improvements. Didn’t like the following features:1. During transactions, little banners (bank’s additional service advertisements) pop up on the bottom of the screen and doesn’t go away till the time we manually close them using the ‘X’ mark. This is an annoyance as you have to stop in the middle of whatever you are doing to close the banner and then continue as some of the screen for transaction in progress is hidden behind it. 2. After making a third party transfer, the receipt can be downloaded but it also mentions the available balance in your account. Now, if you have to send the proof of payment to a third party (Society Maintenance Charges, school fee, etc.) and you are not comfortable sharing your bank balance with everyone the you have to use third party tools to hide that information. Hope the developers will look into this.

    I'm saying this because, like many others, I also have a salary account with this bank. First, HDFC will show you benefits of opening a salary account with them, blah blah blah, after 90 days... it's been 9 months and I haven't gotten anything. On top of that, they add some charge or the other, cutting into my money, and if you try calling them, you can't even get through to customer care. Feels like they're deliberately not connecting you. Their server is under maintenance like 10 days a week. Their app is worse than IRCTC, and the maintenance is a nightmare. If you try logging in via browser, either it won't let you log in or it'll show 'last login was active' and no matter what you do, it'll keep hassling you. This is the worst bank, most pathetic. First, they show attractive offers, and once you're hooked, they'll make you cry. You can do limited things in their app. Don't know what they were thinking while making the app. Now I'm thinking of shifting my salary account to another bank. So if anyone's thinking of opening a salary account with this useless bank for the offers, don't. You'll save yourself the trouble later. I'm closing my account and shifting. If you've already opened one, remember my words, you'll save yourself later. I've told you the problems I've faced. Do what you want. My job was to tell the truth.

  • Worse banking app ever

    The app is one of the most buggiest banking apps I’ve come across. From auto-resetting passwords, auto logging off, to terrible UI decisions, it’s designed to make customer’s life difficult. Despite it, I’ve been managing to use it somehow and usually when I open the app, I’m asking for the password with my customer ID already keyed in.Today, I opened the app and it asked me to accept T&C. I scrolled down and then pressed the tick to accept terms, yet it kept asking me to accept terms first which didn’t make sense. In the end, I found a hyperlink within the terms which needs to be clicked to visit a website with another set of terms and conditions, return back to the app and then tick the terms for it to work. This is a prime example of how NOT to build UI. This is designed to make customer’s life difficult ag every step.On accepting terms, it is asking me to register my device for extra security. I keyed in my customer ID and phone number and I’m presented with some error to visit my profile page and select login methods—except I’m currently in logged out state so I cannot visit this profile page. So now, no matter what I do, I cannot login. It’s just a garbage app. Hope the reverted back to the previous version which atleast worked.

    I would like to tell you that certain features don't work properly, like when you open FD in deposits and check interest rate then app immediately crashes and it close down, then when you open it again you have to re-enter your password, but due to some technical fault the earlier session was still active so you have to wait. There are bugs in many features. Hope to see update and get more user friendly application with extra layer of security. Sir please provide a simple section in which user can check his/her points earned and that data should be update frequently as per transaction. Its like if you made certain amount of transactions than for that transaction it show cashback or reward point if person is eligible. There should be transparency for the users, so he or she can check up rewards point and cashback regularly. Hoping to see modifications in your app and transparency for users.

    Complaint Review – HDFC Bank Credit Card ServiceI am extremely disappointed with HDFC Bank’s service. Even after contacting customer support multiple times, my issue remains unresolved, and there has been no clear update on whether it will be addressed.Initially, I was offered a lifetime free credit card by HDFC Bank. However, after a few months of using it, I received a notification for an annual membership fee, which was never part of the original offer. When I called customer care, I was informed that the offer was a “false call,” and that the bank could convert my card to lifetime free — but only from the next year, meaning I would still need to pay the current year’s charges.This experience feels highly misleading and unethical. If it was truly a “fake call,” I should not have received the card in the first place. The fact that I did, and still had to pay, clearly indicates a misleading marketing strategy designed for customer acquisition and profit.In my opinion, HDFC Bank needs to take accountability for such deceptive practices and ensure genuine resolution instead of providing false assurances and delaying responses.

    The UiUx of the mobile app is of average level. The grouping under the menu is irrelevant. For example Fix Deposits are grouped under SAVE. Fix deposits are not for saving only. There are many actions such as interest rates, new FD, existing FDs, breaking the fds, overdraft on FD. How could it be under save? Please give all important activities on main screen. Such as Account, FD, Cards, Loans, FD amount displayThe overdraft is missing from FD now. , saving current amount display on main screen. Many activities such as linking the credit card etc are missing from the app. I will rate it as Average app. A security issue I noticed is - there is no two step authentication as required by RBI, for breaking of FD. There should be transaction password for all transactions like above. More over credit card auto payment and other credit cards are placed separately. I get frustrated while using this bank app. Icici, Axis, Central bank, SBI apps are very good. Plz study those. Again the frustrating experience, in reply he is again informing me to write another person. These are my suggestions to improve you. I can move my transaction to icici and axis bank.
