Basic Feature bundled as a service

I downloaded the app on sheer strength of how powerful the idea is to me. But the immediate provocation to delete this app came about on seeing such a ‘high’ subscription fee, that it certainly made me evaluate whether i really ‘needed’ it or not - just to access the most basic of the feature set.
I think Apple’s own photos app does so much for me (in iO 13) that this app ‘appears’ to be giving only an incremental feature. To bundle a feature as a ’service’ doesn’t make any sense to me.
So dear developer, I’m sure you’ll have a fan following but unlikely to appeal to the huge number of regular joes who typically look for value.
A suggestion - please make feature separate from what can be charged as a service and put a subscription charge to that. The only reason I’m going to such lengths on feedback is because I too believe you’re on to something really big, so do make the right moves now. Best wishes.

Since we do not make money by inserting ads into the app or sell your information to third parties, a subscription service has been the best option we've found to keep the app evolving and the company growing.

One thing we'd like to point out is that you can still create your videos in the free version. PRO gives you access to some additional features, to back up all your stuff on our servers, and create more projects, but all of the basics are included in the app without having to subscribe.

We’ve rolled out our Pro subscription tier as an optional in-app purchase, keeping our core app 100% the same. No features were removed and we guarantee the core app will continue to evolve with new features and updates.

You'll never have to purchase a subscription if you don’t feel like it’s something you need. 😉
