I usually don’t reach out for App Store to write a review for an app which makes my day simpler and is way ahead of other banks. This app almost eliminated my need to reach out for branch be it any type of request. I have almost stopped using my other bank apps which now I think is way too traditional after using this app. The recent feature to turn on UPI scanner by default when logging in the app just blew my mind. These are some feature ideas which will pop up only to developer who himself uses the app on daily basis and want to improve the app further and bank has its backing for these developers to do whatever it makes the people’s life simpler. The one point of improvement I might say is the performance issue, which takes a considerable amount of delay to reach the next window and some instances where the session logs out. The user friendly UI (with a centralised search bar) with bulk load of features really outweighs the shortcomings which I don’t care much though it’s a point of concern. Please continue making banking this simple and better to every people as it has always been to me.

When we do a UPI transaction and it immediately debits money from our account, if the receiver end has some issues then the amount is not reversed. E.g : Mostly we do UPI with street vendors, where we expect immediate success or failure, but how actually ICICI works is the opposite way, Amount will be debited from our account and the transaction will be in hanging state. We can’t expect the vendor to accept that money is debited and it will be credited to you certainly, instead need to pay same amount of cash also, as no one would agree leave the place without confirmation from their end. If any issue out side ICICI side system should mark the transaction as failure and credit back the amount immediately. Even if we raise service request or call with customer service there is no way to get back the transaction amount. They will simply say our side no issue and some issue with recipient side, it will credited to recipient account only, there is no way the stop the hanging transaction or credit back the amount. Lost some money like this.
This app's performance is ironically the mere reflection of the bank's current state of affairs. It just goes on to show how the bank has made it unnecessarily difficult for the customers to use bank's services. I logged in the app and opened 'Manage Mandate'. The app buffered for several minutes before giving error message that it can't fetch the details currently. I uninstalled the app and now the new version requires to validate my number. Yet, despite sending several SMS to the app default verification number the app is unable to verify my phone number and hence I'm shut off completely from my account for the lack of bank's app. Their customer care is also useless. I keep getting SMS for Re-KYC. The app couldn't even open the link for KYC while the customer care promised that they'll schedule on call KYC verification but not such call happened. I guess it's a subtle message from the bank that they're not interested in serving and their customers should take a cue and move on to better private banks.
I can’t believe I have to message 3rd time to ask icici bank to fix there mobile banking app for latest update error on iphone 8plus. This is bloody so wrong that a banking app is causing so much trouble to its clients. You think people are idiots that they will buy a new iphone just to use your app. People would rather open their new bank account in a different bank and close their icici bank account permanently than to but a new iphone just to use your updated version. You are literally harassing thousands and lakhs of icici bank customers with your new stupid update only good enough for latest iphones. Its a banking app and not an advance gaming app that only latest phones can run it. Each and every Icici bank customer should have proper access to their icici bank account through the icici banking app. Can’t you notice people are suffering so much because of your latest update. We don’t want your advance features dammit. We want to perform our daily banking tasks without any update issues on this app. Why are you not fixing it already. A banking app should be available to all its customers. I will raise this issues to higher authorities if not fixed right away.
I really find the app to be very useful and have been using it since it was launched with hardly any hassle except annoying product ads that pop up. I would like to request adding a feature to the app, the standing instruction mandate list and options to make changes. Any transaction is between icici and me with the merchant being the outsider so why do I need to log on to websites which clearly icici doesn’t take responsibility( according to the message on the website) for and make changes there? Why can’t it be added to the iMobile? This would allow us to make changes and subscribe or unsubscribe without any hassle and reduce the number of complaints about excessive charges and the difficulties that merchants add to make unsubscribing challenging to us. If your making the payment on our behalf you should take responsibility to allow the changes easily too. Please consider.
Hey!!! Have been using this app right from the start. It has been really good, I must say. It kind of eliminated me visiting the bank entirely, even erasing the requirement of me changing my address when I moved across state borders over the course of time, which I eventually got to do. However, I recently lost my wallet (May be my pocket got picked!) But, I had to block all my cards and tried doing so using the app. No matter how many times I tried, I simply could not accomplish this task as I got a blank white screen and the app eventually hung on me. It was truly frustrating. I tried it across WiFi and cellular data usage as well. Nada. zilch. In fact, this has happened before too, and I had alerted my account manager and he simply gave me the option of calling the 800 number to get the cards blocked. So, it was quite disappointing to note this. It would be wonderful if you could look into this and update this essential emergency feature ASAP, so that this truly becomes an all-in app to be used by customers.
