I am an auto enthusiast who enjoys spirited driving. Hence no surprise when I checked my car for traffic violations I found 6 speeding tickets in the last 6 months! I had heard if radarbot and downloaded the app on my phone. I’ve found it to be very useful in preventing me from going over the speed limit by giving voice notifications of speed cameras and red light cameras which are coming up. I would say that instead of being an app that allows me to bend or break the traffic laws, it actually helps me to comply with them. It’s a win win for everybody.

When there are unnoticeable cameras the app definitely helps in making the driver aware. Not that speeding is something that I would encourage but the road user should be well aware of the zones so that speeds are controlled. In Kerala especially its like hidden cameras and hidden speed limit sign boards in lot of places including highways, looks like they have made this as a revenue source instead of helping the out of state/city drivers, thats where radarbot is a savior. Kudos to the Radarbot team and the community for their contributions. Thanks!

App is nice but doesn’t work as expected on CarPlay

I used the trial period for this app before going for expensive subscription.While using it through CarPlay, during announcement of any alert, music starts playing on phone instead of car speaker and after it’s finished speaking, music starts playing on car after few seconds.It is unlike other apps i.e. Google map or Waze where music volume slow down during announcements. Only reason to buy subscription was support of CarPlay. That’s not working for me either. So cancelled the subscription.

I have been using the paid version for over 3 years now. It has saved me a lot of challans. Navigation is impressive and can be fully offline without the need for internet (should you choose to download the maps). Speed cameras are updated regularly. Fixed speed camera accuracy is 90-95%. Mobile speed cameras not even 10%. There is an option to opt out of mobile speed cameras though (being user reported I think).
