Excellent reference manager

My experience after trying out Papers3 is highly satisfying. Some improvement is always possible. When we try to create lists with different tiers, although the right pull-down list is arranged alphabetically, selection of a list title is easy at the entry stage of the article. However, many times it is essential to check under which major title a particular list title is available or for modifying its position under a different group or even for directly going to the list title for editing a list title in the darkened left panel of the displayed list is difficult - one has to scroll through the entire list for locating it. If a search button is provided for directly going to a particular list, it would be highly useful.

I do not see any modifications to accommodate my view expressed above. Perhaps the feasibility is limited to consider this view.

Genuinely happy how nice this is

I read a lot of papers. This is the only cross-platform app I’ve found which really works. It’s fast and the annotations are super useful. It has a few quirks (e.g. syncing annotations sometimes gets triggered in the middle of writing them) but so long as you download the paper, go on airplane mode to read and annotate, it’s super smooth.

Problem with Tags

This is an excellent app and is invaluable for researchers like me. I have been using Papers since version 1. I rely heavily on tags to classify my papers. Unfortunately, the ReadCube ios and PadOS app cannot search tags in the side bar like the desktop version can. Also in the column view you cannot activate a column to view tags. Neither can you apply a particular tag to multiple selected papers. Hope this is fixed soon. I have been waiting for it. Thanks.
