Samsung Health 4+

I’ve been a Samsung flagship phone loyalist since 2017. Only shifted to iPhone this month. This app, though? Not giving it up. For one, it has all my trackers going back 7 years. For another, it actually does a commendable job of keeping me motivated to stay health-engaged.
Go on then. Add it to your desktop.

The app looks promising with good features and an addictive monthly challenge page. But all this amounts to nothing when you can't add friends properly. Its a hassle. Please allow options to add via email or an ID or name. Even editing the list of contacts isn't possible, suppose you want to remove someone, you can only block him off, not remove. I have a feeling that this is an iPhone only issue.

Furthermore, the app step counts are confusing, even shows a different value from the Apple health, or any other pedometer App. And if you don't keep the app open atleast in the background, the steps are not counted. Which makes it pointless when you are in a challenge or with friends.

If these issues are smoothened out, other apps in the same segment can take a backseat.

Everything is great about this app. Tracks steps, running, cycling and all other forms of fitness, however you have to turn the respective health feature on.. in order for the app to track it.

The only area of concern is that the tracks separate steps count apart from what I get on Apple health and on my iWatch. The data from apple health and iWatch is more accurate and doesn’t sync with the Samsung health app data count. In spite of you trying to manually sync it, there are discrepancies on every day count between the two systems.

In addition, I can’t keep carrying the phone whenever I run or cycle, hence I wear a smart watch. You have to develop an app that tracks the fitness workout through the watch as well. If there is such an app function available for iPhone and iWatch users it makes sense to disregard the apple health data and go with Samsung health.
