Very limited food library - no option to add new items

I’ve been using the Simple app for a while now. It’s simple and easy to use. Unfortunately, they recently updated the app to allow meal recognition by taking a picture. Since then, you can only log food in their library. That’s a limited selection. And if you don’t find what you want to log, you don’t have any other options to log the meals.

Great app, poor food log

I love this app- it’s simple, intuitive, with a clean UI. The lock screen widget is super neat. I’ve been using it for a few days and I think I’ll stick with this one for a long time to come.

The only major negative imo is that it has a poorly designed food log feature (honestly a simple notepad would outperform this). Most of the food items aren’t in the library, and it doesn’t show easily what you ate in the day or in previous days, instead just showing titles like “Breakfast”, “Late Lunch” etc which don’t give any real info to the user. Id much rather see the details of my meal there for which I’ve to click the title, then click edit, then click edit again. Too many clicks to see meal history.

Logging has been difficult

Overall the app is really cool. But I’m struggling with logging. I don’t understand why it is very counter intuitive or am I missing something?
Or instance if I log a fast today which started at 830pm Sunday and ended at 1030am on Monday next day. It means I fast for 14hrs. Next day(Monday) if I started my fast at 930pm and end it on Tuesday say 11am. When I log this. My fast start time on Monday automatically changes to 1030am which is when I closed my fast. So basically it is picking the time from when I closed my fast the prev session. I tried all options but it doesn’t work.

Isn’t it supposed to be much easier than this? Why does it automatically keep changing it by itself?
