Ratings and Reviews
The overall experience is great.
It’s true that sometimes a few items are not available which is an issue they need to address. However such items are relatively less in number. As per their FAQ you can reach out to customer service if you don’t want the refund in your wallet. (Strangely I got a refund to my card directly this time. Need to see if this will continue) If they can address these two issues and upgrade their iPhone app they should be fine. Another plus would be giving customers the option to add an item to the order within an hour of placing it but I am not sure if that would affect the delivery timelines. These are the reasons for reducing a star but they are minor issues in my view.
Speaking of pros, the prices of items are pretty reasonable if you compare with a Bigbasket or other regular supermarkets. Product quality is also good which I hope will continue given that TATA has come to be synonymous with trust over the years for Indians. And I am not even referring to Sampann which is a premium brand. The items which are available loose such as rice, dal, atta are pretty good and value for money.
Worst customer service
This rating is for customer service and not the app itself. I received expired product which I happen to notice only once I opened the product a few days later. Since it had been more than 3-5 days of delivery. They promptly came back in email telling me I will get no refund since the complaint date has expired. Furthermore, please check your order properly before accepting it. Items are often missing and product are old or expired. Do not let the delivery person leave until you have thoroughly checked all items otherwise they claim to deliver items not delivered. I provided all the proof by sending invoice copy and photos and yet nothing was done. In fact they make you sound like you are lying. Just terrible service. I for one will never shop at their store or via their app.
Poor quality of veg n fruit and non availability
Quality of veg and fruits are of poor quality and rotten items are packed in. Customers can not trust quality as left overs and stale items not sold in store is being packed. Thick quality paper used for packaging is included in weight and items are short measured and makes big difference for 250gm package as substantial weight is of paper. Quality and availability is poor. High price is charged and small weight cauliflower is supplied, damaged coloured capsicum, which is expensive with pole marks and cuts are supplied. Chemical washed rotten ginger is shipped. Is this quality of Tata which is lacking trust. More often then not even on Sunday and Wednesday many items shown as available do not get delivered. Radishes and carrots being a normal winter vegetable is not delivered. Poor supply chain management. Veg and fruits should be delivered in day time and option given to customer to choose time slot instead its delivered after 8 PM with left over store vegetables of bad quality and shortage of substantial varieties. For online buisiness to prosper trustworthy store packers should be deployed with penalty for bad quality packing. They knowingly pack discarded products, its been seen while they pack in stores and are more busy in gossiping. Supervision is lacking.
