Certain vibration patterns and/or flashing light patterns are assigned to unique everyday sounds to help Deaf and Hard of Hearing people feel and see alerts instead of hearing them. For example, if a Deaf person’s doorbell rings at home, Taptic detects it and vibrates to a bzz bzz or a flash flash. Alternatively, if the washing machine cycle finishes, Tapatic vibrates to a bzz bzzz or a flash flaasshh. We leverage audio detection technology to help people be more spatially aware and self-supported in important situations. Taptic offers a customizable and adaptable experience for sound recognition. Users can create personalized vibration patterns for any sound. Focus modes filter out unwanted noise in specific environments, ensuring crucial alerts reach them without distractions. Taptic leverages existing smartphone technology for affordability and accessibility. We provide an alternative to expensive flashing appliances.
