Finally a great universal Wikipedia app!

Finally a great Wikipedia app which is readable from the tiny Watch to the giant iPad. Great typography and design. Split view on iPad, share extensions, and careful placement of buttons along with sloppy swiping for articles and images make it really comfortable to use. 🌈

The dark mode should work on tables, too!

Hello!

I was wondering why instead of changing the tables’ colors, dark mode in the app just applies an overlay on top of both the background and the text.

It feels uncharacteristically inelegant. Is there a way you could fix this?

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your feedback! We agree that dark tables in dark mode would be superior to only dimming the brightness, which the app currently does. Unfortunately, tables on Wikipedia may contain anything, including dark and black text and graphics. Oftentimes, these specific colors have a meaning, too, so changing or inverting them would not be desirable.
So since we don’t think that there is a reliable way to properly invert the color scheme of Wikipedia tables without risking to harm the accuracy of the content, we decided not to apply the dark mode.
