Overall Okay
App serves the purpose for what is there but I feel like app interface is very complicated and difficult to navigate over and above the ridiculous sign in and connectivity algorithm. Once you sign in, It’s more of a hit and trial of touches here and there to get to know the app, markings and labels doesn’t help much.
Anyway, it’s all in the beginning- a bit of learning curve, after 1-2 days you get the hang of it.
However, it’s very swift in response, automations are easy to understand, provides widgets also which are very helpful (in my case for AQI readings along with temp and humidity as I only use this app for my Mi Air purifier 4)
Perfectly horrible
When you buy a Xiaomi device, you expect it to work, but this app makes the best effort to make the user experience a total nightmare. For instance, the vacuum robot, an expensive device created to make your life easier, but with an app that makes you regret buying any smart product from this company. The app is slow to detect the robot and remember the map. Once the map is done you can’t move your furniture, otherwise the robot will not clean that area. If you change your mind and change the dock to another room, the robot will not remember it and will go to the place where you installed for the first time. The user interface is horrible and if your phone have a dark mode, the app will keep the buttons in black, so you have to guess where are the buttons. If you decide to stop the robot and clean another room, is better to call the maid. The app doesn’t work and you have to close the app, or activate the manual mode, move the robot around and then tell it to clean the room that you wanted. With all that effort, is better, faster and less frustrating if you just get the broom. This app is so frustrating and badly done that is better to invest in something more expensive but that will work as expected… or simply call the maid.
Too untrustworthy
The point of having the vaccine was to make life easy but this is a very bad robo. The mapping is flawed with too many issues.
1. While creating a new map of the vacuum runs out of power then the software is not loading the new map and I have to go through the entire process of creating a new map for the entire floor
2. If the original map has recorded any obstacles original during initial mapping , by removing those obstacles (tables, dinning table, sofas) while cleaning its is creating confusing with the vacuum software and it is realigning itself in to another room on the map. For example if the vacuum is cleaning living room, by removing the sofas , it is thinking it has accidentally landed in the wrong room and relocated its position on the map in an entirely different room, thus creating unwanted mapping of extra rooms which doesn’t exist and this causes the original map to be completely distorted with additional rooms which don’t exit
3. If it faces human obstacles while we are walking, it is completely disregarding cleaning that part of the room
