Parallax perspective can add real depth to a photo, but sometimes you want squared lines and a head-on view – a challenge when shooting from an angle. Whether you’re fixing an architectural shot gone askew or trying to snap a scan of a printed table, Acorn’s Perspective Fix & Crop feature can counteract errant angles in ways a typical crop tool can’t.

Here’s how to use this handy option.

1. Choose Image > Perspective Fix & Crop. A rectangular grid will appear in the middle of your photo:

2. Drag the corners of the grid so its lines match the vertical and horizontal lines of the subject:

Acorn will also crop the photo to match the grid, so be sure to enlarge the grid to include everything you want to keep. (To keep the entire image, uncheck Crop in the tools inspector on the right.)

3. Click OK. Acorn crops the photo and adjusts the image to give it perfect perspective – and an entirely new look:

Architectural photos are an obvious fit for the Perspective Fix & Crop tool, but it can correct skewed perspective on any type of image.
