桃園市素有「千塘之鄉」之美譽，遊覽埤塘水圳之勝景，絕對是桃園觀光的亮點。但是桃園埤塘遍佈全市，欠缺一套完整的導覧系統，特別是遊客自助旅遊時，可以憑藉之用。因為前中原大學設計學院長期致力於埤塘水圳之資料庫建制，將長期儲存的資料檔轉製成人人都可以使用的APP軟體，應該可以讓遊客體驗桃園埤塘增加多重文字與圖像的解説功能，希望這套千塘之境APP能夠帶給大眾更多的歡樂，以最佳心情遊覽各個埤塘水圳。
