A safe space

Uso Stoic da quasi un anno e mi ha aiutato tantissimo a continuare pratiche di mindfulness come journal, gratitudine e meditazione. Anche se per un periodo smettevo, avere a disposizione tutte le domande e le attività custom mi ha aiutato a riprendere molte volte, e ogni volta che faccio journaling sento di avere più chiarezza mentale dopo pochi giorni. Mi aiuta tantissimo ogni sera ricordare tre cose per cui sono grata, o rispondere a domande più specifiche su come mi sento dopo una certa attività.
Le citazioni sono meravigliose, mi piace moltissimo che c’è la possibilità di programmare le domande che ti fa il journal e scegliere che tipo di prompt avere la mattina e la sera. Anche la grafica è molto neutra e rilassante :) la versione gratuita è più che buona, non c’è per forza bisogno di spendere

App non ottimizzata per Mac, la scrittura lagga

L'applicazione per iPhone è fatta molto bene, è scattante e funziona senza problemi: al contrario l'app per Mac è lenta e impacciata - non essendo nativa. Il testo lagga in maniera considerevole non appena si supera la mezza paginetta di diario (cioè proprio le lettere appaiono sullo schermo in ritardo rispetto alla digitazione, e questa cosa è fastidiossissima), e questo rende difficoltoso quello che dovrebbe essere l'uso principale dell'applicazione, cioè la scrittura. Questa in assoluto è la cosa che non mi permette di usarla e mi fa tornare costantemente alle altre soluzioni.

Oltre a questo non si può formattare il testo (però questo era chiaro fin dall'inizio) e l'app è pensata per guidare la creazione di un diario con dei topic suggeriti e dei modelli preimpostati, che però poi sarà scomodissimo recuperare (esiste la sezione journey ma è difficilente navigabile) o editare (perché il voler modificare uno scritto ti fa ripassare per tutte le domande preimpostate, una dietro l'altra, cosa francamente assurda).

Oltre a questo mancano del tutto gli shortcut disponibili solitamente su Mac (ma ripeto, l'app non è nativa), e la sensazione che lascaia è che sia uno strumento più per chi vuol scrivere 2 righe ogni giorno e consultare l'andamento del proprio umore più che uno strumento per chi vuol tenere un diario.
