The ancient Roman historian, Plinius, called Portofino «Portus Delphini», a Latin denomination that comes from the fact that a lot of Dolphins frequented the surrounding sea.
Welcome to our exclusive APP, an application for showing our guests, the best they can have in one of the most beautiful countries in the world: Italy!! In the 60s and 70s, many celebrities used to hang out in Portofino to enjoy its lifestyle. Among them included: Ava Gardner, Frank Sinatra, Brigitte Bardot, Lauren Bacall, Sofia Loren, Humphrey Bogart, Kim Novak, Joan Collins, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Clark Gable, Catherine Deneuve, Rita Hayworth, Orson Welles, Rosanna Schiaffino, Princess Grace of Monaco, Lady Diana, Liza Minelli, and Rex Harrison. Newspapers used to be filled with stories of mundane events and mysterious stories about the fascinating Dolce Vita, of which Portofino became a symbol. Today is still a place known for international tourism and the jet-set lifestyle.
