Ratings and Reviews
Disappointing, improvable
This app is maybe the only one that includes all the features necessary for rowing on a boat. It has gps tracking, spm, pace, distance and so on. It also has an app for Apple Watch that can monitor the heart rate during the training session. Still, it completely fails to count the strokes and keep an accurate spm. In an average-50 mins rowing session on a coxless four (22-28 spm), the spm shown on the app was between 6 and 15. Totally wrong. Of course the accuracy of such an app is expected to be lower compared to other devices, but the gap is too consistent. Also, the integration with the Apple activity app is improvable: RowingCoach displays the calories (thanks to the Apple Watch I suppose) but when checking the activity on the activity app the calories are different. Also, the user interface and the app graphics is not much intuitive and very simple. Different sections (sessions, start activity, preferences...) would be appreciated.
