L’app che rivela il vero scopo di uno smartphone
Comprai la prima versione di quest’app nel 2009, anno internazionale dell’astronomia. Da allora, ho cambiato 5 smartphone, ma “lei” è sempre lì, nell’app bar in basso, quella parte di interfaccia di uno smartphone non soggetta a paginazione.
Non entro nel dettaglio dell’app, che è fondamentale. Vi bastino due cose: un’informazione di pubblico dominio e una storia personale.
L’informazione.
Guardare e conoscere il cielo di notte è un’esperienza mistica. I fotoni, portatori della forza elettromagnetica, partiti dalle stelle decine o migliaia di anni fa, attraversano il Cosmo e entrano nei vostri occhi. L’energia di un lontanissimo e immenso sole fiammeggiante entra così in voi. Viene così naturale volerne sapere di più su questo astro. La distanza, la massa, il nome…
La storia personale.
Quando uscì il primo iPad, io andai all’Apple Store, lo provai, ci installai (usando le mie credenziali!!) Star Walk, alzai l’iPad e verificai con rammarico che il giroscopio era assente. Ebbene, senza pensarci un attimo conclusi che non lo avrei acquistato. Ho atteso l’anno successivo, feci lo stesso test sull’iPad 2, e lo acquistai.
Star Walk per me rappresentò “l’asticella” per l’acquisto di dispositivi mobili.
Se non l’avete ancora scaricato, fatelo. E sbloccate i contenuti aggiuntivi.

Un giro, senza limiti di luogo e di tempo, nello spazio
Apprezzo di questa app, la possibilità che fornisce di osservare il cielo in qualunque momento della giornata e da qualunque parte della superficie terrestre.
Apprezzo molto anche le notifiche che richiamano l’attenzione su eventi che altrimenti sfuggirebbero.

Premesso che già possedevo Star Walk (versione precedente), ho acquistato anche questa convinto di trovare miglioramenti, invece se voglio usare la ricerca (ad esempio per la ISS), ecco che devo spendere altri soldi. Colpa mia che ho peccato di fiducia, ma mi aspettavo meno ostacoli 'commerciali' alla fruizione. A questo punto non so se li spenderò, per una questione di principio. E forse non comprerò neppure le prossime applicazioni Vito Technologies, per pura rappresaglia.
