Description
Note: The Past Within is a co-op only game. Both players need to own a copy of the game on their own device (mobile, tablet or computer), as well as a way to communicate with each other. Play together with a friend or find a partner on our official Discord server!
The past and future cannot be explored alone! Team up with a friend and piece together the mysteries surrounding Albert Vanderboom. Communicate what you see around you to help one another solve various puzzles and explore the worlds from different perspectives!
The Past Within is the first co-op only point-and-click adventure set in the mysterious world of Rusty Lake.
Features:

Play together with a friend, one in The Past, the other in The Future. Work together to solve the puzzles and help Rose set her father’s plan in motion!
▪ Two worlds - Two perspectives
Both players will experience their environments in two different dimensions: 2D as well as in 3D - a first-time experience in the Rusty Lake universe!
▪ Cross-platform
As long as you can communicate with each other, you and your partner of choice can each play The Past Within on your preferred platform: Mac, PC and Nintendo Switch!
▪ Playtime & Replayability
The game contains 2 chapters and has an average play-time of 2 hours. For the full experience, we recommend replaying the game from the other perspective. Plus you can use our replayability feature for a fresh start with new solutions to all puzzles.

The Past Within - Update
To celebrate our 9-year anniversary as Rusty Lake, we’ve added a connection between Underground Blossom and The Past Within in the form of a secret mini-game. Non deludono mai
Ho giocato a quasi tutti i capitoli di Rusty lake ed appena ho visto questo, non ho pensato due volte ad acquistarlo e coinvolgere i miei amici, devo dire che ci siamo divertiti un botto. Nel gioco ci sono due capitoli interscambiabili quindi chi gioca statico nel primo capitolo, nel secondo avrà più movimento e viceversa (sto provando a non spoilerare troppo) quindi è molto dinamico. Lo consiglio vivamente alle persone che vogliono passare una serata diversa perché è molto coinvolgente. La nostra personale durata del gioco è stata circa di 4 ore, ovviamente può cambiare da persona a persona (noi l’abbiamo preso con calma, facendo pause)
La modalità condivisa non mi convince
Sono un fan di Rusty lake, ho giocato a tutti i loro giochi e nessuno mi ha mai deluso. The Past within ha una grafica molto accattivante in pieno stile rusty lake ma il gioco l’ho trovato un po’ statico. Hanno puntato molto sulla condivisione ma risulta molto difficile trovare una persona che ha i tuoi stessi tempi liberi e ritmi di gioco per cui questa modalità non mi convince affatto. Avendo sviluppato tutto sul doppio giocatore hanno tralasciato gli enigmi che risultano abbastanza sempliciotti visti i precedenti. È la prima volta che do meno di 5 stelle ai giochi Rusty Lake. Forse avrebbero dovuto far scegliere se giocare con un altro o in modalità solitaria ma capisco che sarebbe stato un po’ complicato.
Migliorabile ma bello
Sicuramente si vede la bravura degli sviluppatori RustyLake ma ad essere totalmente onesti non mi è piaciuto quanto gli altri. Questo sembrava più una cube escape e sarebbe stato bello sviluppare due versioni quella "solo" per renderla più emozionante anche da soli e "coop" con l'intenzione di giocare insieme ad altri.
Mi dispiace che non siano state fatte queste due scelte a mio parere indispensabili per la giocabilità perchè una volta che si scarica non potete giocare da soli ma dovete NECESSARIAMENTE avere un altra persona che scarica lo stesso gioco e farà "coppia" di giocata in simultanea.
Per il resto nulla da dire.
