DO NOT BUY VERA CONTROLLER

Bought 4 controllers Vera3 couple of years ago to use with my Zwave locks, due to renovation I just opened the box 2 years after the purchase, the controllers are perfect and new, but 3 out of 4 doesn’t work because apparently the firmware is not updated. And if you try to access them via ip number it doesn’t work because your computer directly connected via lan won’t see it. The worst part is that DO NOT EXIST A RESET BUTTON as we are used to in routers. It exist a reset button in the front to cancel previous configurations, but not to reset to factory settings etc..... So, even if you hit the reset still you will not be able to access the configuration panel to be able to update firmware or configure the controller. You basically need to telnet some specific commands to try to reset. It worked in 1 out of 4. Not even the Vera technical assistance with remote access to my computer was able to reset them. If they couldn’t imagine you at home. Óbviously, even knowing that were never used (since to work they connect to their server so they knew they never were plugged in) and although I have been talking to customer service for months, tens and tens of e-mail, time with technical assistance with them trying to reset the controller etc..... no replacement nor repair since out of warranty. I even suggested to have it shipped there and they reset over there, but was always a door shut. The only thing they offered is to buy a new one, then ship my old ones and they will give me a discount. But, what do you know, the discount is lower than the shipping cost to send them the old ones. A joke. As far as the only one that works, it is pretty bad. The standard configurations are so badly thought that for example the batteries of my locks die in a month. The controller is set to check on the lock every few seconds, and this drains the batteries. I basically spent 100$ in batteries in 2 months. Instructions doesn’t mention anything about it, nor there is a manual. Fortunately I figured out myself and deactivated the functionality. USELESS.

If you have any feedback in regards to the mobile app we'd love to hear more about it. Vera3 has a reset button on its faceplate, alongside the WPS and the Sync button. Vera3 is an EOL product and has been EOL for the last 4 years, although we don't have any more stock to replace them, we will try our best to help you recover them. We stand behind our product. We also have an upgrade program for our existing customers, through which you'll be able to get a new Vera unit at a reduced price. Customer Care support is also free for the lifetime of your controller.

Useless

I use Vera for the automation of my house, and I control even the alarm system so I really need to control Vera from outside my house; this app doesn't help me at all because every time I open it, even if I'm already logged in, I have to logout and login again to see my devices. I had to buy a zwave remote controller to use my zwave system from outside my house. Very useless
