Description
AMAN App is for use inside The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan ONLY, and will be permanently removed from the App Store when COVID-19 pandemic is over.
AMAN App has been developed for Jordan’s Ministry of Health (MoH) by COVID-19 JOTECH Community, a group of tech-savvy volunteers. AMAN is a privacy-conscious, exposure detection App. It helps keep the community and Jordan safe from coronavirus. Everyone has a role to play! By downloading AMAN you are keeping yourself, your family, your community and Jordan safe and healthy!
***Have we been around an active COVID-19 case?***
***And if we have, how can we be notified ASAP?***
To minimise risk and get reliable information to Jordanians and their guests – we’ve built this App. AMAN is a community-driven App using anonymous GPS data to detect exposure to COVID-19 patients. Once downloaded AMAN stores data about their location points for the past 14 days. If someone using AMAN is diagnosed with coronavirus by the Ministry of Health, the people who have been recently in contact with her/him will be notified through the app advising them to isolate and call 111, MOH’s COVID-19 Hotline, for instructions.
Your privacy matters; it is as important as your health. Therefore, AMAN only stores data on your phone and does not request any personal information or data that could lead to your identification or to breaching your privacy.
How you can help stop the spread of COVID-19 by installing AMAN now:
● Download the AMAN App
● Follow the instructions.
● Always keep location services turned on.
● Check that AMAN App is running in the background when you are out and about or are likely to come into contact with others.
● If you have been in contact with a COVID-19 patient, AMAN will notify you by indicating the level of risk of exposure to COVID-19, and ask you to self-isolate and contact MoH’s Hotline, 111.
● If you are diagnosed with COVID-19, you can to share your anonymised location data through AMAN with MoH’s officials. This would help to notify people who have been in contact with you without knowing your identity.
AMAN App is a community-driven initiative for Jordan and the Ministry of Health. Visit www.amanapp.jo and www.corona.moh.gov.jo for more information.
Aman works in all cities and regions of Jordan including; Amman, Az Zarqa, Irbid,
Al Karak, ar-Ramtha population, Jerash, Sakib and Ajloun.

Very effective
My only concern is alerts being a little slow, but I understand it could be due to the time it takes to track down every active case and interactions—I imagine it would work much quicker and just as intended if everyone were to have it installed.
It seems accurate nonetheless; although I haven’t been going out, I received an alert with the exact date, time, location and risk level of a possible exposure (it was pinned on the street next to my house). This proves the great deal of effort and work being put into it.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for your feedback. The time at which the user receives an alert depends mainly on when the person with Corona disease is diagnosed, and often within 24 hours, the notification should have appeared. The process takes place after uploading the patient's file - after his approval, of course - and then by comparing the local sites with the patient's presence sites received from the Ministry of Health servers - anonymously, of course -.

A great initiative from the Jordanian government in the fight against COVID-19
I fully support this initiative and recommend you to download it if you live in Jordan it will help you be aware if you crossed paths with an infected person and will help you discover if you got infected and it will help you avoid infecting the public and your family by testing early and go for treatment ASAP
** for those who are concerned about their privacy don’t worry the app only connects to the internet to retrieve locations that were uploaded by the ministry of health to help the app cross paths with infected and non infected people and it will only store your locations on your device and will not be available to public nor the government it will only warn you to go and test.
Question
I have a question
The place i work at had one positive case and AMAN did not alert me not even after 2 weeks
So how does this app really work ?
Developer Response ,
Thank you for your question ,
we are group of volunteers working hard to make the app better,
Several possibilities may cause such a problem, including: 1. The site services are not permanently effective for you or the infected person (they must always be activated and not only when using the application). 2. The application was not downloaded by the infected person, or it may have been downloaded, but it was not activated correctly. 3. The warning is not instantaneous. The patient's data must be uploaded first after his approval, of course. 4. The infected person may delete the application and download it again, causing all his previous data to be erased and lost. 5. The infected person has the right to refuse to upload his private data, which causes a delay in breaking the chain of infection.
