Customers can buy single issues and subscriptions using In App Purchase

Subscriptions are available on monthly or annual terms.

• Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period
• You will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, for the same duration and at the current subscription rate for that product
• You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal by going to your Account Settings after purchase
• No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during active subscription period. This does not affect your statutory rights
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription

Can't sync my subscription

Don't purchase anything from the app as you won't be able to read contents on their website... You'd be vendor-locked-in to iOS devices.

You can't read anything even on the Mac, let alone on web browsers (of other devices). At least, they could have warned me of that.

Apparently, if you have purchased issues on the web, you can read it on this app. Why do they even allow purchasing on the phone at that point?

Using either of the two accounts, this app is renders the ugly HTML in a web browser. It's a sad pointless app. It used to be far better, but I guess they sabotaged their efforts and went full on profits at some point.

BBC History

Very poor app, which is unfortunate because the magazine content is good. Glitch-prone, not user-friendly, takes ages to load or doesn't load at all sometimes, can't be read in landscape, which is a big negative for any tablet user (who reads a mag like this on a smartphone?)...despite the interesting content, I've had enough.
