Description
The Driver’s Guide is a vehicle-specific* Owner's Handbook for selected BMW models**.
When using this system for the first time, you require an Internet connection. Once you have entered the vehicle identification number (VIN) the Owner's Handbook that matches your vehicle is downloaded and is then also available without an internet connection. Within the Driver's Guide you can manage a number of vehicles.
Find out about the benefits of your vehicle with the complete Owner's Handbook, a Picture Search or explanatory animations. The better you know the vehicle, the less effort you need when driving.
Depending on the specific vehicle, all or a selection of the following content is available to you:
- The complete Owner's Handbook.
- Brief instructions.
- A search by topics.
- A search by pictures to find functions.
- Explanatory animations.
- Smart Scan. Obtain targeted information on individual operating elements with the help of the smartphone camera.
- Solutions depending on the situation, on the basis of quick links.
- Explanations of the warning and indicator lamps.
- Answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ).

この電子マニュアルにはBMW購入時に付帯する紙の取扱説明書には記載のない事項も書かれています。
紙の取扱説明書は日本語表記に難が多くあるとともに、よく理解できない部分や明らかな間違いもあります。
この電子マニュアルの日本語表記は問題ありません。また紙には載っていない特にセーフティー面の詳細な記載があり、ここは知っておく必要があろうかと思います。

Last update messed up everything.
Trying to open “Updates for Your Vehicle” within the app brings me with the following message:
{"error": "invalid_request", "error_description": "The request is missing a required parameter, includes an unsupported parameter value (other than grant type), repeats a parameter, includes multiple credentials, utilizes more than one mechanism for authenticating the client, or is otherwise malformed"}
Also, trying to open connected drive from the BMW Japan official website, says that the site is maintenance and be ready as soon as they finished upgrading their connected drive website but it keeps saying that same message for at least 2~3 months and no progress is made to finally make it function properly.
自分のクルマ専用の説明書
車は無数のオプション装備の集まりなので、たとえ同じ車種・同じグレードであっても「装備が完全に同じ」とは限りません。
しかし紙の説明書はどうしてもすべての装備を網羅せざるをえないため、必然的に自分の車にない装備に関する記述が多数含まれてしまいます。
その結果、「説明書にはシートヒーターの使い方が載っているが、私の車にはそんなものはない」というような事態が起きてしまいます。
しかしこのアプリではそういう問題は起こりません。「完全に自分の車のための説明書」をダウンロードできるのです。これは大変画期的です。
とはいえ、実際にはいくつか不満点もあります。
・絵図がすべて左ハンドル仕様。混乱を招くので右ハンドルにも対応させてほしい。
・コンテンツのダウンロードに時間がかかりすぎる。しかも端末がスリープになるとダウンロードが中断され初めからやり直し。これは勘弁してほしい。
・CarPlayなどインフォテイメント周りは説明が簡潔すぎて、ほぼないに等しい。
問題点はあるものの、大変便利でよいアプリです。対応している愛車にお乗りの方は、ぜひ使ってみてください。
