I bought three tickets for my family but it took more than 10 seconds to finish scanning and validating to scan another ticket. We hopped on the tram anyway and got fined 12000 HUF because we were unable to validate tickets. Then we tried to validate three tickers again to ride on a bus, managed to scan two and the driver drove away with only my son onboard. We had to run to find him in the next bus stop.

It makes no sense that the app takes so long to scan, and the QR code is available outside of the tram or bus, not inside. If it takes this long, you need to have a QR code inside the tram/bus so we can scan multiple tickets. A better solution would be to add a feature to select more than one ticket to validate with one scan.

I would never visit Budapest again.

It is not recommendedin the passenger area to buy tickets or passes for more than one person with one user account, because in the case of occasional tickets, – as you experienced – each ticket must be validated separately when travelling, while passes and travelcards must be presented by scanning the code one by one when boarding at the front door or at the metro station entrance.

We tested the internal ticket validation option throughout the summer of 2022: code stickers were displayed on the internal side of every door in the passenger area of tramlines 4 and 6.
In the test phase, we experienced that code sticker displayed on the internal side of doors could lead to abuse, as there were passengers who validated their tickets only when ticket inspectors appeared onboard.

I bought a 24-hour ticket and took a bus from Székesfehérvár to Lake Balaton.
On the way back I tried to take the bus from Balatonfüred, autóbusz-állomás to Székesfehérvár, autóbusz-állomás.
When I showed the 1808 crew the animation of my 24-hour ticket, they told me that it was not available. He told me that it was not available and demanded 1300ft for the ride.
This is almost double the price of a 24 hour ticket.
I paid twice.
Is there a difference in usage?
What is the 24 hour ticket for?

Also, it doesn't say what to do when transferring. Do I need to do anything when transferring from the bus to the metro?
I got an error when I tried to read the activated QR at the Metro entrance.
