劣化なしではなく、劣化の目立たない処理を選べるアプリ
小さな画像をその品質のまま拡大できるアプリケーション、かなり劣化がすくないアプリケーションと考えるのは禁物です。
特徴は、多様な拡大処理法から、元画像の性格にあった拡大法を選べる点に尽きます。
アニメ塗りなどと呼ばれる限られた色数で面が均一に塗られた画像と、多様な色が面に混在した画像では、処理法の選択によって結果に明確な違いが出ます。あるいはコントラストに大きな差があるものが接している画像と、差があまりなにものでは、拡大後の境界域の違いが明白です。
この他の元画像の特性の違いを含め、処理後の状態をプレビューできるので自分の好み、拡大後に何に利用するかによって試行錯誤できます。この方法がよいとわかれば、その後は迷わず処理法を選べるでしょう。
評価の☆が２つである理由は、「ピクセルや粒子が荒くならない」という惹句が大袈裟である点を考慮しています。これは正確な言い回しではなく、誤解を生み、アプリケーションの本質を逸脱しています。
繰り返しますが、「ピクセルや粒子が荒くならない」ではなく「（拡大後に）ピクセルや粒子の荒さが、（用途にあった）目立たない拡大法を選択できる」です。
