This also adds two checkboxes in the Preferences for "Excluded Applications…" to control whether to record passwords ("concealed") and other data ("transient") from password managers and other clipboard managing apps. • The transparency setting in the Preferences works differently now: It makes the entire window transparent, making it less obstrusive – and once you interact with iClip, it becomes opaque. In order to adjust the old background transparency, hold down the option key.

• The clippings database file can be made permanent again on volumes other than the startup volume. • Fixes an issue around setting the name, background & text colors of clippings in bins.

Fixes detection of Word clippings (was broken in 5.5.6), so that the bin previews show the plain text again from Word clips like it did in v5.5.5.

iClip is now a 64 bit application, ready for the future of macOS FIX: Pasting into LibreOffice works again. FIX: Deleting a clipping during Hot Key Copy/Paste mode with cmd-delete now works. FIX: Scripting: "make new clipping copied from current application" and "make new clipping copied from clipboard" works now. FIX: On Mojave (macOS 10.14), user is now getting reminded when using Copy or Paste without Accessibility in the Security Preferences being enabled. FIX: Rare issue where text copied from Messages (iChat) would appear wrong. FIX: Old style PICT images appear again in the bins, instead of just showing a"?". FIX: After a display change (GPU switch) the iClip buttons don't become unresponsive any more. FIX: Handoff (Pasteboard sharing between iOS and Macs) clips are not added to iClip any more (this was supposed to happen already in 5.2.5 but didn't). FIX: Pasting into Matlab works more reliably. Further Improvements: • Supports TextExpander, Butler, TypeIt4Me, Typinator and Keyboard Maestro by not recording transient clipboard contents any more. • Does not record when 1Password is the active app to prevent accidental recording of passwords. • Many performance improvements, especially with Aliases and large pictures. • Better Alias file handling: Offline volumes do not cause frequent login dialogs any more. • When turning off the recorder, the recorded clippings don't get deleted any more, so that they're back once the recorder gets enabled again. • RTF clippings do not appear empty in the popup preview occasionally any more. • iClip asks for confirmation when the "Clear all bins" command is used. • When editing a rich text or RTF clipping, a warning now appears about the fact that the formatting will be lost. Note: • This version stores clippings in a new database format which is not backward compatible to version 5.0.x. Therefore, once iClip 5.1 has been launched, the clippings can't be read by version 5.0.x any more. A 5.0.x compatible database backup will be created in the iClip folder for recovery.

Bug fixes and a rare crash fix. For anyone having issues with the autohide behavior: iClip will only auto show if it's already hidden. So, if you click the iClip menu bar icon to show iClip*, the iClip window will not hide until you click the iClip menu bar icon again*, even with "automatically show/hide" enabled. This is by design. * Alternatively, you can show and hide iClip by pressing the the hotkey (if configured), or by opening the app again (with Spotlight or by double-clicking the app icon).
