We couldn’t wait to go back to the land of twisty towers and uncanny beauty—and this sequel didn’t let us down. With its striking colours and level design, it’s even more stunning than the first game. New elements like light beams and controlling two characters make the puzzles even trickier. The bond between that mother and child is what we’ll remember most, though—their relationship moved us in a way few games do.

たしかに、神秘的で高潔な1作目は衝撃で、惚れ惚れした。
でも、ゲームでまさかこんな気持ちになれるなんて…
この2作目をプレイするまで思わなかった。
我が身を投げ打って子育てしていると、
我が子が、自分の分身なんかではなく別個の人間で、私とは違う人生を歩んでいくという当たり前すぎることを、忘れてしまいそうなときがある。
親であるばかりに、他者の枠を越えて、余計なお世話を焼いてしまう。
船のシーンは胸が張り裂けそうだった。
でも、娘は私ではない。
私も、私の母とは違う。
張り裂けそうだったけれど、その痛みは必要な痛みだと思った。
なんというか…その痛みを大事に大事に愛するようにして、母1人になった旅を進めた。
monument valley 2に出会えてよかった。
私も、いつかあんなふうに、大人になった娘と並んで歩くのだろう。
これを神ゲーと呼ばずして
パズル難易度はあまり高くないですが、それ以上に仕掛けの種類が多く、しかもその一つ一つが美しく、エッシャーの絵の中を旅しているかのように錯覚させてくれます。
主なキャラクターは母と娘の二人で、デザインは素朴です。しかしアニメーションが緻密で、その仕草にとても人間味があり、この神秘的な世界観に没入させてくれます。
ストーリーも存在していて、自らの手で二人を導き、母の使命と娘の成長の行く末を見守ることができます。
これを神ゲーと呼ばずしてなんと呼ぶのか。神ゲーとはこのゲームのことを言う。そう思わせてくれる作品です。
