わかりにくくなった
3の方がわかりやすくて遊びやすい
グラフィックや雰囲気は向上。しかし…
シリーズ中屈指の名作であるMM3ではレース中のマシンはただの丸でしかなかったが、今作からしっかりとマシンのモデルが用意されており、ペイントなどの意味があるようになった。がしかし、カメラの距離が遠い。作り込みは粗くても良いのでレース中継のようなカメラワークが欲しい。（以下はオープンホイールの話）レースイベントではフリー走行のターンが追加され、経験値やパフォーマンスボーナスなどを得られる機会が増えておりゲームの奥行きが増した。しかしその様子はコース上で走ってるとか、ピットで作業してるとかの動きは見えず、ただゲージが進行していくのみでなんとも味気ない。予選はエリミネーション方式が追加されたものの、時間の猶予がなく、Q1は開始直後に出せば2アタック、Q2はなんと1アタックしか出来ない。コーストラックが空いてから出す、なんて戦略的で悠長な事はやってられないのでほとんどスプリントレース状態である（しかも計測ラップじゃないマシンも普通にレースラインを取るのでかなり邪魔。当然タイムに影響する）。また予選後にスプリントレースのあるイベントもあり、こちらではリスクを負って攻めるかどうかの指示ができるのだが…たった3周なので予選とさほど変わらない。メインレースではピット戦略を事前に構築できるようになった。タイヤの美味しいところまで使って別のタイヤに繋ぐ、という戦略も事前に組める。その場合はタイヤの予想磨耗率から逆算してアタックの度合いを自動選択してくれるのでレース中に細かく指示を出す手間が減っている。マシンの開発も1台分で良くなったため、開発したパーツの取り合いによるドライバー間の不和要素が減っているのは遊びやすい。1つ難点を挙げるとするなら、購入後48時間、ゲームエディター+支援金のバンドルが700円のセールになるはずが24時間で消えたこと。普通に遊ぶ分には必要の無い機能だが、日本人縛りだとか、リアルドライバー、チームで遊びたい人には必須機能なので買ってから悩むとバンドルのセールを逃してしまう羽目になるのでこれから買う人は気をつけて欲しい。
