What’s New

Version 3.11

We’ve got a new update to NotePlan for you today with filter views in the sidebar! You can now switch between your daily timeline and filters in the sidebar.

Combined with the new “Rolling 30 Days” timeline option inside filters, your sidebar now has always up-to-date views on yesterday and the next 30 days from today.

Adding in filters makes your daily note even more dynamic and productive by showing a custom list of tasks alongside your daily to-do items.

PLAN SMARTER AND KEEP YOUR EYE ON WHAT’S NEXT — Filter Views in the Sidebar

In NotePlan 3.11, your daily note sidebar now has a huge upgrade with filter views. You can switch the daily timeline for a filter view of your choice. Just click the dropdown button "Timeline" in the right sidebar above the timeline on macOS and select a specific Filter View (CTRL+4).

Filter views also have a new timeline option that makes the filter view next to your daily note incredibly useful: “Rolling 30 Days”. This timeframe shows you tasks from yesterday and the next 30 days *based on your current day*. Having a filter view with “Rolling 30 Days” helps you stay current: you’re always looking 30 days into the future, from today.

One more thing: all tasks inside the Filter View can be completed and edited, too. You can even add new tasks to the filter right inside the sidebar view!

So how can you use the new integrated filter view to boost your workflow? Here are some ideas:

- See upcoming tasks with a tag or mention from a filter. E.g. all tasks from your list “Personal Projects” tagged with #priority1.
- See you overdue tasks filter to make sure nothing slips through the cracks.
- Create a filter view with an important project and show it in the sidebar to keep the project front and center.
- Want a productivity boost? Why not show the filter with all tasks you’ve completed this week?

The new filter view inside the sidebar lets you stay on top of things even better by combining multiple views inside a single window.

IMPROVED

- Improvements and bug fixes to filters
- Performance improvements (potentially fix for freezing and memory issues)

Markdown based note-taking and planning done right!

NotePlan keeps getting better and better with each new release. So many practical features for planning out your day and building a plan all the way from yearly down to monthly, weekly and daily. Calendar views, Markdown notes, linking to other notes like a wiki... NotePlan's functionality is amazing. What's even better is that notes can be shared across iOS/iPadOS/macOS, exported to other formats... and it’s all in a plain text format that's accessible from Finder, rather than locking the user into a proprietary format.

If you're serious about taking notes, linking together the information you have and building plans and timelines while looking at different calendar views, NotePlan is a clear winner and a sound investment.

Folding text もできるようになり、最強です!

task、note、カレンダーの一括管理だけでなく、レファレンスのリンクも貼りやすく、重宝してました。さらにtable of contentsから見出しに飛べれば言うことなしです。

repeating tasks

I really love this notes-centric approach to task management, rather than adding notes to pre-existing tasks. In comparison to Amplenote, this app has a superior visual design that brings me joy to use it. However, there’s a significant drawback: the inability to set up infinitely recurring tasks, which doesn’t make sense to me at all. I need recurring tasks to remind me do some monthly routine tasks such as checking my work schedule that is updated on 25th of each month. This is never ending. For the time being, I am relying on Apple Reminders for my recurring tasks as a workaround, but I’m eager to see improvements made to the built-in recurring tasks feature.

Regarding repeating tasks, we have a solution in mind using templates and making them repeating (can be a daily, weekly or monthly repeating template with pre-scheduled tasks like for the 25th).

Do you mind dropping us an email to hello@noteplan.co to discuss this feature idea?
