I’ve used almost a dozen different podcast apps over the years but Overcast is by far the best for ease of use and discovering new shows. Easy Saving, sharing, and flexibility of listening how I like it (for example, customizing speeds for different podcasts) are just some of the reasons I keep coming back to Overcast. Hands down the most streamlined and user friendly podcast software package ever made. Very minimal advertising and promotional material. If you are sick to back teeth of Spotify (what a joke) you’ll love this app.
I have paid for the app since day one and have happily adopted the patronage model and will continue to do so. If you wonder about ads, go listen to "under the radar", ep. 45! Developers need to eat. Enjoy the app and pay the developer if you can! Just to add this: this app is nearly too good to be true!
Simple, powerful and complete interface. The new update for the watch make it finally useable. The crown for the sound level was missed. Be able to listen with the Watch only is great and won't make me move back to the Apple app (podcast available from WatchOS 5)

アプリ内から日本語が含まれるポッドキャストの検索ができなかったので新規開拓には向いてませんが、iTunesのURLリンクで追加できるので聴くものが固定の人にはオススメ
新しいエピソードが来ればプッシュ通知がきちんと届きますし、ダウンロードも早い印象なので文句なしです
I switched to this app from Apple podcast. Overall, it is very good. I have been enjoying using it for a couple of years.
For some time I have been trying to figure out how to do the following settings or if there is no such features on this app. I would appreciate it if you could kindly answer my questions.(it might not be appropriate to ask these here, though)
• how can an episode of podcasts once played be played again automatically on a playlist?[if such a maneuver is possible]
• is it possible to make a setting to repeat one single episode?
Fails to download files from subscribed podcasts, under Wi-Fi or cellular connection. Some download up to a point, say, 10% or 40%, and then go back down to 0%, repeating this endlessly thereafter. This hasn’t happened before in my years of relying on this app. Please fix it ASAP, thank you.
I got disappointed after buying the app..
Thought it would be intuitive to find how to binge hearing a podcast that I subscribed to, but instead I had to manually play each episode, after previous was ended.
Trying to make a playlist didn't help because there were too many options and I got confused with the exclude/ include modes.
Hope they’ll get better.
Overcast used to be my favorite podcast client, I still like its idea of using playlists and I like how podcast discovery works. But the play controls get moved to random places it seems. Sometimes play/pause is at the bottom of the screen (where it should be), sometimes it is at the top. Many controls need two taps, the first to uncover controls, the second to initiate the action. The table of contents are no longer visible in the info pane either. I hope the developer figures this out while I switch back to Castro for a while.
The app is pretty good in general, but the main reason I switched to it over Downcast was the ability to play directly from my Apple Watch. Unfortunately, syncing to the Watch is unstable and usually doesn’t work. I reported this problem to the developer, but no reply. Also other people seem to be having similar issues, but no official response.
