Pirika is the world's most popular litter collection and social contribution app*.
By enabling the users to visualize the act of litter collecting, we can motivate each other through this app to spread the word and make the world a cleaner place.
The pollution caused by litter in nature is a worldwide issue nowadays. This is especially serious for litter leaking to rivers, ocean, and the seas, as they not only destroy the ecosystems but also affect us human beings by polluting our food.
80% of litter in the seas and oceans come from the lands, so picking litter up is an important step in solving litter pollution.

Pirika was created in 2011 by students from Kyoto University secretly, using the equipment in the university to develop the app. When they started their service, they were frequently laughed at - "who will use such a service?" - but the app has grown to be used in over 111 countries, with more than 210,000,000 pieces of litter having been picked up.

美しいまちに
アダプトプログラムを通して沿道のゴミ拾いなどを始め10年目になりました。各週を基本としていますが、始めるひと月は毎週取組ました。継続することで、範囲を広げちょっとずつ美しい場所が広がっているように、また、落ちているゴミの量も減っているように感じています。
NHKでこの取組を知りましたが、皆さんの活動を知ることでモチベーションが上がり、励まされているように感じています。皆さんに負けず、私の住むまちが清々しい風が吹くより美しいまちになるよう、微力ながら精進させていただこうと思っています。

｢継続は力なり｣です。
手前味噌になりますが、私もこの6年ほど会社の周りのゴミ拾いを、毎週月曜日にしております。
周りに美術館があったり、歴史的遺産があったり、結婚式場があったり、飲食店があったりするのですが、月曜日は特にタバコの吸殻やゴミが多いので始めました。
以前は、一緒にやって貰っている人もいたのですが退職されて、今は一人でやっておりますが、他の曜日に某宅配の方々に最近やっていただいております。
継続的にやっている事が周りの皆さんにご理解いただけると思っております。
このアプリを入れて、皆さまの活躍を知り続けて行く事の大切さを再認識しております。
Twitterで知り初めました
1人でゴミ拾いをしているので、色々な方とこのアプリを通じてゴミ拾いの事を共有出来て、とても楽しいアプリです！初日は面白くて張り付いて見てしまいました。笑
ゴミ拾いを通して色々な発見がありました。
沢山のピリカをする人が増えて街が綺麗になる事を願います。
