VPNでまともなのはこれだけ?

いくつものVPNをちゃんと講入して使用しましたが、BBCsportsのUK限定ビデオを見ることができたのはこれだけです。特別な設定などもちろん何もせずにです。NordもExpressもCyberghostもSurfsharkも、他にも4つほど使いましたが全てだめ。何か裏技のようなものを使えばこれらでも見ることができるのかもしれませんが、宣伝も紹介やテストの記事もあてにならないとつくづく思いました。
星1つマイナスは速度が他のものより遅いと感じることが多いからです。

日本と台湾サーバーの位置情報が香港

日本や台湾のサーバーに繋いだ時、何故かgoogle検索の位置情報が香港になります。韓国サーバーに繋いだ時は韓国になります。日本と台湾のサーバーは確実に信用出来るのでしょうか？

When connecting to a server in Japan or Taiwan, the location information of google search becomes Hong Kong for some reason. When connecting to a Korean server, it becomes Korea. Are the servers in Japan and Taiwan reliable enough?

Hi! Perhaps you're seeing this due to an outdated geolocation database. There are many IP geolocation database providers, and the accuracy of each provider is different. Make sure that your ProtonVPN connection is in order by connecting to a server and opening https://ipleak.net/. You can see your public IP address and assigned location in the results.

上限はないとあるけど

信頼して必要な時に使っていましたが、説明と違ってプレミアムの試用期間が切れてからのフリー版は1か月ほどて接続の上限になりましたのでアップグレードしてください（your connection is limit your account. please up grade subsucription）と表示されました。

app store説明にはそうないので、少なからず不信感を覚えました（そもそもアップグレードの検討をし始めていましたので）

セキュリティソフトに付属されているVPN（Hotspotベース）とどちらか、、しばし考慮します。

What happened?

The app was alright until the new update got implemented. I hate how you can't change freely between the countries we have for free. Whenever I turn the vpn on it's always on Netherlands,never anything else and it bugs me cause like why'd you change it and what happened? Y'all used to be good

改悪について説明

2024年3月のサービス変更で、無料ユーザの場合は接続先の国とサーバを選ぶことができなくなりました。そのため、IPアドレスを隠すような用途での利用はまだできる一方で、海外からのアクセス制限を回避するような用途での利用が困難になりました。
個人的には、可能だったことを不可能にするようなサービス変更は、ユーザに対して事前に告知すべきだと思います。残念ながらProtonにはそれができないということが明らかになってしまいました。

WORST UPDATE

Really hated the new update, this automation makes more limited choices for free user. Choosing manual free servers are more friendly choices than this fck new update. I'm in asia and this app always gets me connected to romania or ntl damn it jp are more closer to meh county. Guess i'm gonna uninstall it if they don't revert back on previous features

The default auto-connect option will give you the best experience and connect you to the fastest available server for you. Automatic server connection leads to better load balancing and higher speed, which is a priority for free users. However, you still have the option to switch to another randomly allocated server. That said, our decision to offer certain functionalities exclusively on our paid plans is to ensure the continued availability of our free plan for users who may not be able to afford to subscribe. It's about striking a balance between offering a free service and providing added benefits to our paid subscribers. Nevertheless, we have forwarded your feedback to our team for further investigation.

Battery drain since iOS 15.0.1 awful

Thanks you for the reply, before in iOS 15 beta even with the VPN connection activate in standby wasn't draining my battery that much. Same with iOS 14.
I can lose over 30% battery in one night. It was on smart protocol switched to wireguard to see if it get better... Anyhow there is a bug with standby and this version 15.0.1.

If you are connected to a VPN with your device, increased battery consumption is expected. This is because your device is constantly maintaining the VPN connection. However, this increased battery consumption should not be significant. Have you tried switching to the Wireguard protocol? Speeds are OK, but the app sucks

I get random crashes, failed connections and it sometimes takes a minute for the app to recognize I'm a paid user.
But the most annoying thing is when I select a server in a certain country, but it still connects me to somewhere random. Sometimes I have to restart the app multiple times to finally connect to the choosen location

That doesn’t sound right. Could you share some more details about these issues? Are you receiving any error messages? Have you tried switching protocols? Are you using any other VPNs on the same device? Are you using any firewall or antivirus? Contact us through the 'Report an issue' option in the app menu so we can help you troubleshoot.

一部国内サービス以外は殆ど使えて便利且つ安心

Niconico 動画での有料配信など、一部見れないサービスは有りますが、概ね満足しています。 Proton premium なので、手持ちの端末には全て入れて運用しています。 文句があるとすれば、接続する国は指定できても、接続先のサーバーの地域が指定できないところですね。距離的に有利な大阪サーバーに日常的に繋げたいのですが、毎度毎度東京サーバーに接続されるので、いちいち繋ぎ直すのが手間です。

The Niconico streaming service is currently not officially supported by Proton VPN, therefore we cannot guarantee that you will be able to access the content with our servers. Rest assured, we have forwarded your request to the team for future consideration of enabling this streaming service via our servers. Regarding your other point, you may consider creating a custom connection profile (https://protonvpn.com/support/connection-profiles) for one of the servers in Osaka, which will allow you to connect to that server more easily. You could also make that profile the default one, which means the Quick Connect button will connect you to that profile.

Updateしようとしてるのだから、Killswitchがじゃまするのはおかしいだろ

Updateしようとすると、キルスイッチが馬鹿みたいに動作するのでインターネット接続が切れてブロックされるのにおのれの更新もブロックするとか頭悪いのかな？
他のVPNは、Updateしてreloadするので使えますが、このVPNは干渉してインターネット接続を自らの更新なのに切るという御粗末仕様。

他は良いのに、セキュリティ対策と更新が兼ね備えられていないとか他社に劣る

For the time being, you'll have to disable the kill switch before updating the Proton VPN app from the App Store.
