Using it as a Japanese teacher

I’ve been using that app as a Japanese teacher for a few months now and it’s really incredible. My students love to study with the beautiful illustrated stories, it’s really efficient to explain concepts and the stories have a great variety of vocabulary and grammar!!! BEST app

Got greedy

Yeah I know, devs need money to live like everyone else, but the recent change has put me off the app entirely. Previously, you had 3 stories for free a day (it would reset every 12 hours or, if it felt like it…). Today I popped in to discover a new exciting change! Gems or whatever they were called are now replaced by keys! Yay! What that means though you get only 2 stories now per 24 hours (since one key takes 12 hours to regenerate, second takes 24 and your inventory limit is 2). I was going to go through a basic level as a demo and get subbed to power through l, but it seems we’re at the “keep pushing the goal post” kinda app so nah cheers. Keep your stories and good luck.

It is obvious that it was not supervised by any Japanese persons.

Sentences written in English and machine translated, impossible images of Japan drawn by an AI operated by a person who does not know Japan... Japanese DON’T WEAR SANDALS INSIDE HOUSES AND DON’T WEAR KIMONOS IN EVERYDAY LIFE (except for some particular jobs.)

It's really fun as a game of finding mistakes. If you are serious about making a language education app, you should hire a proper Japanese adviser.

We are working with native speaker to fix our content, as of now, most of our mistake are coming from the dictionaries and tools we are using. We are fine-tuning our algorithm and manually updating some pronunciation and definition to match our content and context.
