Good fun!
Introduced to the card game by a friend. Quite fun. Simple to learn, but a lot to master.
Good game with terrible UI
The card game is good on itself, no problem with that.
But the app, it's a nightmare. Terrible UI. Very unresponsive and not intuitive at all.
Here are few bad UI things:
- when player get 10+ authority damage, there is a huge explosion over the authority meter, and since animation is slow it takes a bit to assess how much authority is left. Very inconvenient. Numbers should be over the explosion not the way around.
- player can't check the card while something in action, as if checking the card is a sorcery spell, if you want to quickly check the card, you have to wait untill all movement is done. It's impossible to grasp what's happening sometimes.
-when finally player can check the card it occupies whole screen and you can't see the game, small float in window on the side should do the trick.
- since text on the cards are so small, it's unreadable, so you have to inspect the card, and since you can't inspect the card while it's not your turn, you left guessing and accepting the process.
This should be really easy UI fix, like many other games you can understand what the card does without even reading. Or inspecting cards are easy and instant.
- once game is over, you can press option button and then tap "end turn" button, it will continue the play and deal cards. This is really sloppy coding. This type of things should not be happening.
- during the game when you play cards, combat and coin meter summs up instantly, but animation of the +coins and +combat over your sequential and delayed, this is very confusing. Either game animation must be instant, or coins and combat addition should be sync with the animation.
- besides the UI, huge problem is monetization. You are given a very little margin for a free play, everything else is paid content. Though the prices are very reasonable, it is still bothering. I would rather pay once for huge amount of content than chipping pieces one by one.
In conclusion, I wish this games would copy UI from other card games such as MTG Arena, with amazing UI, intuitive design and fast response.
