2023年に小説「ハンチバック」で文學界新人賞と芥川賞を受賞し、鮮烈なデビューを果たした小説家の市川沙央さんは、電動車椅子と人工呼吸器を使って日常生活を送りながら、20年以上の創作活動を続けてきました。執筆や日常に活用してきたデバイスとアプリのことから、国際女性デーに対して抱く特別な想いのこと。「ハンチバック」の次回作へとつながる胸中まで語ってもらったストーリーです。

他国と比べて理数系の分野で高い学力を持つにも関わらず、理数系の職業へとつながる進路を選ばないことが多い日本の女子生徒たち。これを「テクノロジー教育のジェンダー格差」という社会問題として捉えて、女子やノンバイナリーの生徒・学生にプログラミングを無料で学ぶ機会を提供しているのが、特定非営利活動法人のWaffle（ワッフル）です。その活動内容や、実際に学んだ学生たちの声を紹介します。
