Where to find the serial number:
Unfortunately, no Volkswagen unit displays the serial number on the screen. To see this identifier, you must partially remove the audio unit, where you can see it above or below the barcode. Sometimes, this number also appears engraved on the metal of the case. Please note that a valid number always begins with VWZ and is 14 or 15 characters long—do not confuse it with the car's VIN, which can also begin with VWZ.

How to remove the unit:
Removing a VW unit is usually straightforward and only takes more than a few minutes, especially for Golf and Polo cars. If there is a panel surrounding your radio or navigation, carefully remove it so you can see the four screws holding the unit in place. If the unit is older, you may need removal keys. How to bypass SAFE or SAFE 2:
If you enter multiple incorrect codes, your unit will prevent you from entering more codes while SAFE or SAFE 2 appears on the screen. To bypass this protection, simply leave the unit on for 60 minutes. After this period of time, you will be able to enter codes again.


Enter VW radio code:
Please turn on your radio or navigation and ensure it reads CODE or 1000. Look at the first digit of your code and press the 1 button repeatedly until you enter the correct number. Go to button 2, where you have to do the same. For example, to enter the number 8, press the button eight times. Continue with buttons 3 and 4.
