Venture into Firewatch’s mystery

Total isolation in a secluded fire tower? You’ve got this.

Firewatch

A stunningly beautiful mystery

View

Imagine breathtaking views of the Wyoming wilderness – the loneliness that comes with leaving everything you know behind to protect a secluded forest. Firewatch captures this perfectly with gorgeous visuals and intricate, choice-driven gameplay. In this eerie mystery, a new career and way of life quickly unravel into a haunting adventure.

Don’t get too comfy in your nicely appointed lookout tower.

Though played from a first-person perspective, Firewatch is not a combat game. Instead, you wander through woodlands as a fire lookout, investigating campsites and uncovering the secrets of the forest with Delilah, the supervisor you speak to via walkie-talkie.

How you answer her questions – if you choose to answer at all – alters your relationship and, ultimately, the course of the game. These over-the-air conversations, by the way, are the only human contact you have in the wilderness.

With walkie-talkie in hand, you’ll explore the landscape from a first-person perspective.

The landscapes you see throughout are based on the Shoshone National Forest, recreated with a visual style reminiscent of classic National Park Service advertisements. The muted colour palette and intricate detailing give the game its trademark look.

When you’ve completed the game’s story mode, explore the gorgeous world that developer Campo Santo meticulously created in free roam mode. You might just find you’re inspired to spend your next holiday in Wyoming’s national forests – the vast landscape your only companion.
