Music has transformative power. The right song can calm you when the world feels overwhelming – with a few lilting chords, you find yourself rising above life’s daily stresses.

And ChillScape – Sonic Meditation has perfected the notes to do just that. Specific sounds have been found to slow a racing heart, quell high blood pressure and lower your levels of stress hormones. ChillScape has captured these sounds and translated them into short relaxation exercises.

It’s far easier to relax with a chilled-out soundtrack.

There are two modes: tap New Session, select a length of time and you’ll be instructed to tap the bubbles that pop up on the screen; the combination of the sound, and the focus, is instantaneously calming.

Tap Autoplay and a soothing soundscape will swell in the background even from your device’s lock screen.

Let the programme run on until you’re feeling better. If you’ve set aside a specific segment of time, you can choose the specific duration of your session – then sit back, relax and enjoy the tunes.

Feedback is important: rate each session once it’s completed and the app will learn the soundscapes that work for you. You’re incentivised to use it every day by building up a “chill streak” – try seven days and see how much better you feel.
