Description

MAG3Renography to enhance the physicians' understanding and diagnostic accuracy in the interpretation of Tc-99m MAG3 diuretic renography studies.

The app is designed for physicians. It describes a particular diagnostic test (MAG3 renogram) which is performed and interpreted by physicians for referring physicians. It would not be meaningful for a member of the lay public. The purpose of the MAG3 renogram is to determine if drainage from the kidney to the bladder is blocked. The app does not recommend treatment. That decision is made by the referring physician.

The app shows a representative MAG3 renogram, describes the various parameters that can be derived from the renogram, and provides links to published manuscripts describing the parameters. The opening home page provides a link to 4 references including the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and the European Association of Nuclear Medicine procedure standard and guideline for interpreting a MAG3 diuretic renal study.

The app then presents 10 MAG3 diuretic renal studies and asks the user (a nuclear medicine physician, radiologist, nuclear medicine or radiology resident, or urologist) to interpret the studies and score each kidney as obstructed, indeterminate, and not obstructed. The scoring system also includes a measure of confidence in the interpretation. After interpreting the study, and user has access to the scores and rationale provided by an expert system. Once the user sees the scores and rationale, the user has the option of modifying his/her original score. The user enters the same or an updated score and then has access to the interpretation and rationale of 3 experiences nuclear medicine physicians. For the interested user, there are also links to published manuscripts describing the expert system used in the scoring.

In each page, all the references links that related to the application has been included as clickable links.
