Description

The Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA) is committed to serving the Northern Virginia housing industry. NVBIA was formed to create a positive economic and political climate for the building industry, so it may effectively meet the demand for affordable, attractive, safe, well-planned and environmentally sensitive residential and business communities.

Founded in 1936 by eight Arlington County builders, NVBIA has four chapters: Fairfax-Arlington-Alexandria (FAA), Fauquier, Loudoun, and Prince William.
NVBIA’s mission is broken down into four pillars:

ADVOCACY: We represent the interests of our members at all levels of government. We do so through partnerships with the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Visit the Advocacy section to learn about our latest achievements.

NETWORKING: At formal and informal sessions, members can learn about new products and services, and develop business opportunities with other members.

EDUCATION: We promote professional development and recognition through seminars, workshops and award programs. Our full range of educational programs is designed to help members achieve desired certifications, gain knowledge about hot new topics and improve their business practices.

PHILANTHROPY: We established HomeAid Northern Virginia (HANV) in 2001 to leverage the resources of the homebuilding community, and its trade partners, in building projects that benefit homeless shelters, transitional houses and other facilities. HANV’s work significantly reduces construction costs for care provider organizations, helping more homeless people gain stability and a roof over their heads. The organization has completed more than 121 renovation/construction endeavors, valued at more than $15.7 million in retail construction costs, and helped an estimated 112,000 local homeless and at-risk individuals.
