Last Day on Earth: Survival

Survive among the Dead

View

This game has a straightforward objective: survive. But survival isn’t easy in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies and other desperate humans.

From the start, Last Day on Earth isn’t exactly a walk in the park – you start without clothing, in a half-destroyed base surrounded by basic supplies. Moving around using on-screen controls, you interact, build, sneak and access your inventory. Harvesting resources and using them to build weapons, shelter and transport is key to survival.

To get supplies, exploring the diverse locations is essential, though some areas pose more zombie-based danger than others. More risk, however, means more reward.

This is certainly no walk in the park.

And of course, zombies aren’t the only thing that can kill you. You have to watch your thirst and hunger meters as well as the temperature to ensure you don’t freeze. Then there’s the most interesting problem: the other real-life players.

Will you try to create a powerful alliance or wage war against them? Perhaps both. Either way, they want to survive as much as you, because death means losing everything you’ve worked for and starting over.

Those dogs will sure come in handy.

There are many subtleties in gameplay you’ll uncover as you play, too, and many increase your chances of survival. Eating raw food alleviates hunger and replenishes health, for example, but it’s more effective if you take the time to cook it. Guns are great for causing damage, sure, but you’ll want to avoid them if you’re trying to stay quiet.

If you’ve ever wondered how you’d fare in a zombie apocalypse, Last Day on Earth is the deep survival sim that’ll let you find out.
