Lookupper extends the Mac's "look up words" feature so you can use it anywhere on the screen: in pictures, movies, games, TV shows, memes on Reddit, etc.

Just place your cursor on a word and press the keyboard shortcut. The definition of the word will appear in a pop-up window. You can choose which dictionaries you prefer and the order in which the definitions appear.

And it does more than just look up words
• It makes your Mac understand compound verbs and nouns like "break out" and "bus stop”.
• It knows when a dashed word is common ("self-employed") or not (“co-executive”).
• It saves the words you look up so you can review them and export them to language learning apps like Anki.

Lookupper works seamlessly in all applications, including browsers, books, picture captions, movie subtitles, and full-screen games.

It will help you learn: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese. And also Russian and Ukrainian are also available on MacOS Ventura.

We have changed the name of the application to Lookupper, to more accurately represent what the application does.

Lookupper 1.3.1 also improves the word recognition feature.

• You can look up hyphenated compound words. Lookupper now knows when a word is a common compound word (such as "self-employed") and when it is not (“co-executive”).
• You don't have to run the app every time you log in. Just check "Launch on login" in the settings to have Lookupper run automatically. Feature available on MacOS Ventura.
• Enjoy more accurate word selection positioning.

최고입니다. 초강력 추천

보통 동영상이나 다른 곳에서는 사전 활용이 어려운데, 막강한 기능을 가지고 있는 앱이라 너무 만족합니다.
맥 10년 유저인데 평생 가져갈 앱이기도 하네요. 공부하는데 상당한 도움도 될 수 있구요.
정말 아깝지 않은 앱입니다!! Awesome!!

강력히 추천합니다!

OCR 기능을 이용한 것 같은데요. 다른 앱과 상호작용이 제한된 어플리케이션, 전체화면 등에서도 맥용 사전의 look up 기능이 동작하도록 해줍니다.

특히 영상과 게임을 공부할 겸 영어로 즐기시는 분들께 유용합니다. 앞으로 지원하는 언어가 늘어날 걸로 기대합니다.

It looks like you're using the OCR feature, which allows the look up function in Dictionary for Mac to work in applications with limited interaction with other apps, full screen, etc.

This is especially useful for those who enjoy watching videos and playing games in English while studying. I hope to see more languages supported in the future.

매우 유용한 애플리케이션

이 애플리케이션은 맥의 사전을 다양한 상황에서 충분히 활용할 수 있게 해주어서 도움이 된다.
아쉬운 것은 한국어와 일본어 등은 아직 지원되지 않고 있다는 점이다.
