설명
At our boutique NGO (Asociația unPi pentru Școlari, www.unpi.ro/english) we stive to build smart solutions for all humans.
This app is a solution for creating 3D objects from several photos of the target physical objects. Our make(3D) application accepts images captured by any digital camera, including the cameras on an iPhone or iPad, a DSLR or a mirrorless camera. Your process would consists of:
+ taking photos of the object you intend to transform into a 3D model and transferring them onto your Mac,
+ loading the photos into make(3D) as a source directory,
+ choosing a computation level,
then everything is set to generate you a fresh 3D model.
We have some advice regarding the process of taking photos for 3D object creation:
- move the camera around the object, taking photos from different angles and different heights
- make sure that you have photos from a 360 degrees overview including top and bottom photos
- in order to complete the process and generate a 3D please ensure that the photos have some 'logics' or are related to each other, capturing the entire object
- position your camera or iPhone so that sequential images have a 70% overlap or more. Anything less than 50% overlap between neighbouring shots, and the 3D object-creation process may fail or result in a low-quality recreation
- Position the object so it fills as much of the camera’s frame as possible without excluding or cutting off any part of the object
- use diffused lighting if possible. Hard light, such as from an on-camera flash, direct sunlight, or a bare light bulb can cause problems during object creation. This type of lighting casts hard shadows that can confuse the photogrammetry algorithm
- If possible, don’t make changes to any camera settings while shooting, including the focal length (zoom), aperture, shutter speed, or ISO.
- If your camera offers manual control of any settings, set those values to keep them consistent between shots. When shooting with the camera on an iPhone or iPad, you can lock the exposure and focus settings by long-pressing the image feed view until you see “AE/AF Lock” appear at the top of the screen.
Our make(3D) application uses photogrammetry algorithms which requires Intel Mac with 16GB RAM and an AMD GPU of at least 4GB VRAM or Mac with an M1/M2 processor.
