Hermann Ebbinghaus theorized the so-called forgetting curve. His theory is about the process of learning and forgetting new information. In short, it means that new information (knowledge) is easily and quickly forgotten when no effort is done to retain it. His theory described that about 70% will be forgotten after 24 to 48 hours. 70%!

We've seen it in numerous situations where managers went on an expensive training and returned to the office to start a new regular day, without using the knowledge they've just gained. The result is of not using the knowledge is costly because at least 70% of the price of a single training will be lost.
