Bubble Witch 3 Saga

Shoot, blast & pop bubbles!

Did you know there’s an Augmented Reality (AR) mini-game in Bubble Witch 3 Saga? It allows you to shoot magic spells at dastardly moggy Wilbur using your iPhone or iPad’s camera.

As he frolics around the scene beamed into the space in front of you, you must point and shoot at Wilbur by aiming with your camera and tapping on the screen to fire. Have a look below to see it in action.

He’s a slippery blighter, so you’ll have to physically peer in and around the scene, device in hand, to find him. The idea is to hit him as many times as you can within the time limit to max out your score.

The natty mini-game is unlocked once players finish level nine of the game. If you’re already playing the game and you’re past level nine already, it will become available once you reach the last level of the episode you’re on. Just tap on the Wilbur icon on the map screen to play.

“This way, the experience is offered to the player at the same time as they reach the battle against Wilbur on the Saga map,” explains the game’s principal designer Mike Barwise.

And there may well be more fun AR experiences to come from game maker King, creator of the Candy Crush games.

“Augmented reality is definitely a technology we believe will transform entertainment experiences on mobile,” adds Bubble Witch 3 Saga senior producer David Fernandez Remesal.

Wilbur’s pretty slippery, so you’ll have to think fast.

“We will look into relevant projects in the future where there’s a good match between technology, product and audience.”

So if you’ve not played Bubble Witch 3 Saga before, now’s the time – fire it up, beat level nine and get blasting in AR.
