Description

WHO WE ARE

Al-Noor society was established in 1987 in Houston Texas. Few brothers joined their hands together to establish an entity that offers the services to the community like observing
Most of the Islamic events which were not being observed celebrated and commemorated at that time. By the grace of Allah in Houston Al-Noor the only establishment provided these services. Now Al-Hamdolillah many other organizations in Houston observe these festivities.

A Musallah (place of worship) established in the heart of Houston which was at 6121 Hillcroft where the majority of our Muslim community shops and dines. This was possible because a Muslim family purchased the shopping center @ 6121 Hillcroft Houston and offered a shop to hold our prayers there. The facility was used till 1992. Al-Hamdolillah the society used the facility to its fullest by providing the services needed. Our Friday congregation was and is the largest in Texas and may be in other States as well. The place was not big enough to accommodate the growing community need. The society enjoys the largest participation of the Muslim community in all our year round programs. Al-Noor enjoys Non profit Tax exempt status under IRS (501 C).

Al-Hamdolillah in the middle of 1992, the society managed to find a property within the vicinity to fulfill our needs. Physical location is 6443 Prestwood Dr., Houston, Texas which is centrally located minutes from downtown Houston and couple of minutes from The Galleria. The facility is about two blocks from the major freeway U.S. 59 @ Hill croft. The present facility accommodates 1100 people. We have separate prayer halls for men and women, a large dining room, class rooms, funeral home, and a library. Al-Noor invited many world renowned scholars to address our congregation at special events for last sixteen years.

FUTURE VISION

We are living in the age of increasing immorality, cultural decadence, and almost a total lack of spirituality, at the same time mind boggling infiltration into Islam by corrupt sects each one claiming to be a beacon of salvation. Al-Noor is calling upon Muslims to rise to the true glory and splendor of our faith "ISLAM" by following the teachings of our Noble Prophet Muhammad (May Allah shower peace and salutation on him) and his companions "Sahaba" and those who followed the footsteps of his Sahaba. The pure and pristine teachings of "Ahle-Sunnah Wal-Jamaah" (The majority group) will achieve salvation. It is our responsibility as an institute dedicated to serve the community and save the Muslim community living in North America in general and Houston in particular from such wickedness and adopt the correct perspective of Islam based on the teaching of Qura'an and Sunnah. Our vision for the future and our dedication to this cause to preserve our identity is to build a role model for our future generation. Insha Allah at the completion of our New Masjid Building project we will provide full time school for our children along with Islamic Education. We are planning to have adult education and a "Dawah" program for propagation of Islam. A full time “Darul Ifta” (religious verdict) “ONLINE” will be added to our existing “IFTA” services.

We ask Allah to help us in his cause. *AAMEEN* Be-Jahe Sayyedil Mursaleen.
