Kingdoms of HF - Dragon War

Guild Raid 4x Strategy MMO

Interested in those medieval-themed smash and clash games, but prefer not to take things too seriously? Have we got a game for you. Kingdoms of Heckfire, with its self-deprecating jokes, makes ham one of the currencies of the game, plus we can’t help but chuckle at Cedric the naked wizard and the many (many) fun and silly ways you can kill a goblin. (Pitchforks! Dragons! Quite a lot of arrows!)

As you clear your Kingdom of goblins, skeleton invaders, and marginally scary tree guys, you’ve got to power up your fighters with training – and ham. Truth be told, the whole place needs some sprucing up, so get out the shovels and build yourself a university, a farm and of course a spire for the dragons that help you earn new dragons – and win battles.

What makes this game so well thought out and smooth to play? Well, Heckfire was off to a good start when Vancouver’s A Thinking Ape game studios got working on it. But they bravely opened the prototypes to thousands of fans, and that loyal group was pretty vocal about how to make the prototypes better. One good suggestion led to another, and the launch version of Kingdoms of Heckfire has funnier dragons (even a shark-dragon!) and a whole set of characters that keep things moving with their droll wit.

“The community has embraced the Heckfire universe and started to create backstories and personalities that even the development team hadn’t thought of,” says A Thinking Ape’s Kenshi Arasaki. “It’s interesting to see how the community builds on the lore of Heckfire. When we removed non-essential characters, like our old store lady, the community got angry and have asked for her return.”

When the game gets intense, don’t forget to build the clan tavern, so you can take a break and sit down with your fellow warriors. And avoid that nude wizard!
