Self subscription without any prior consent
Hi my name is almas and I was subjected to the same fraud another user had which is self subscription without providing the user with any confirmation notice. The free monthly trial is not an automatic approval of a paid subscription in the following month which requires an active cancellation from the user 24 hours prior to the expiry of that free month. The user must get a notification informing him or her that the free monthly period is over and that if he or she wishes to continue the subscription he or she needs to pay in which case he or she actively pays the normal way whenever an app is purchased. If the user does not pay, he or she simply gets denied access. This is how all decent app developers operate. This is a true payment fraud and I am surprised apple accepted to partner with such an App developer. I know I need to ask Apple for a refund but I wanted to warn other future potential buyers of this app and the tricky fraud used by the app developer. Shame on you!

Hi Alma - We do not offer a standalone free trial. Instead, new Scribd members receive a free introductory period included as part of their purchase to our monthly subscription, which is why we ask for billing details right away. This way, there's no interruption for folks that want to keep using the service once the free trial expires and the membership can automatically renew. If you find that Scribd is not for you during the complimentary introductory period, you can cancel your subscription at any time and your account will convert back to a free account instead of renewing the subscription at the end of the introductory period. After years I’m considering to unsubscribe
So ma y books titles went ‘missing’ and the variety not there anymore especially for audiobooks. Im not sure if it’s because of the merging or for another reason. Ill it 2 more months. Plus the player is suuuper slow to buffer compared to apple Podcasts
