Decent platform, terrible app.

This review is a drop in a sea of people who love Instagram, but still. The app consistently sends horribly uncalled for and meaningless notifications that can't be toggled off, and are only disabled automatically while regularly using the app. That is to say, if you rarely use it, you'll keep receiving useless notifications like "X, Y, and Z shared 15 photos", or "Join A, B, and C in following D". Occasionally, Instagram will shamelessly drop self-promotion in your notification center ("Check out today's picture from the official Instagram account").

Edit: 6 minute videos where you can't scrub and have to watch in one setting with hardly any ability to pause are a HORRIBLE idea.

Hello, I had a problem in 7/2/19 in my instagram app on my iphone XR it gives me an error everytime i am trying to log in, the error saying “ sorry, there was a problem with your request. “ I tried many thing to fix this but nothing works.. i reset my phone, delete and re-install the app on wifi and on 3G many times, changed the password.. the last trial was yesterday I sent you an e mail thru help center and someone called adam helped me. I sent my photo with my name written on a paper with a number they said.. and even with this they couldn't help, so please what should I do, or what can you do to fix it and help me. I need my access on the app back.
NB: the problem is not from my account neither from my phone.. I am opening now on the same phone thru safari from the instagram website and im writing you.. and i can open my account on other devices thru the app, only its not opening on the instagram app on my iphone XR

Disappointed with new updates

To whom this may concern,

These past several Instagram app updates have, in my opinion, done more harm than good. I myself greatly prefer the older setup to the recent one. While I understand that Instagram has become more than a photo sharing app, the share and activity button being replaced by the reels and shopping button is a great hindrance. At this point, asking for their complete removal seems fruitless, so instead I ask for a feature that would allow Instagram users to reorder the multiple buttons and customise their setup however which way they choose. That way, the people who want the shipping button and reels button on the bottom of the menu can have their way, and the people who would prefer to have the old menu layout can have their way. Many Instagram users do not use Instagram to shop, and so I hope something can be done about the menu layout.
