IMPROVEMENTS

BUG FIXES

• Fixed rendering problems with the pen tool when used with Clear Ink and varying opacity
• Fixed a bug that caused layer and tool options to break on the iPhone when Full Keyboard Access is turned on in iOS's Accessibility settings
• Fixed a bug that could cause portions of time-lapse recordings to go missing
• Fixed a bug that could cause delays in the final frames of a time-lapse recording
• Selecting a pre-existing color no longer causes Linea to switch color palettes
• Fixed the appearance of the Layer Options when first opened
• Fixed a bug where the selected pixels of a layer would be erased if that layer had been excluded from the lasso selection and that layer was the merge destination

Sustainability

It’s almost 2020 and everyone’s grandiose idea is moving to a subscription to maintain their income. I get that but do you also understand what a bubble is? With most developers thinking their app is worth a subscription and with the vast array of options out there, one day it’ll all come crashing down. This app cost $9.99 when it first launched and was pretty half baked back then, but hey why not support indie developers, instead early adopters get screwed with a MANDATORY subscription to keep using features WE PAID FOR while being told that leaving a legacy application in the AppStore is irresponsible. I hope you’re keeping notes on responsibility.

After the 5.0 update, GoodNotes offered a free upgrade to existing users. Ulysses after moving to a subscription kept the older version even if it’ll get broken and outdated. Yet you stubbornly choose to do none while trying to sell a one-year trial as a great deal for early adopters.

If we’re charging $9.99 a year for it let’s review it on that basis. Procreate which launched at $6.99 and currently costs $9.99 as a onetime payment offers way way more bang for the buck while also it happens to be an industry standard. You might be a different app for different uses but with the 5.0 update rolling out, charging $9.99 a year for the sake of being different is absurd.

If you don't find enough value to subscribe and support development for Linea Sketch, that's okay. You'll still be able to continue to use the app in free trial mode. Lots of people do find value however, and appreciate not being overwhelmed by features in other drawing apps so they'll subscribe. Subscriptions aren't for everyone but not enough people used the tip jar to support development. We are also giving everyone who bought linea in 2019 a free year's subscription. Sorry, but we can't afford to do that for everyone who ever bought the app. That's kind of the point why we had to make this decision. Hope you can understand. Thanks.
